21 people die in Thai road accidents on fifth of the seven dangerous days

Twenty-one more people were killed and 284 were injured in 266 road accidents on the 5th day of the New Year travel “Seven Dangerous Days” yesterday, increasing total fatalities and injuries to 212 and 1,860 respectively, according to the Command Centre for the Prevention and Reduction of Road Accidents.

Thailand’s New Year Road Toll Climbs to 190

The command centre reported that 40.6% of the accidents involved speeding, 23.31% were caused by cutting in front of other vehicles and 14.29% are being blamed on drunk driving. 87% of the accidents involved motorcycles.
