Between December 29 and January 1, Thailand experienced a grim start to the new year as the road toll surged to 190 casualties. Shockingly, a total of 1,570 traffic accidents occurred during this four-day period, leaving behind a trail of devastation with 190 lives lost and 1,574 individuals sustaining injuries.

Thai authorities unveiled the alarming statistics, revealing that Kanchanaburi province emerged as the epicenter of this tragic wave, reporting the highest number of accidents and the largest count of injured victims.

The accident figures for each area are as follows: Kanchanaburi province witnessed 57 traffic accidents, resulting in injuries to 56 people. Meanwhile, the capital city, Bangkok, faced the highest road death toll, accounting for 13 fatalities.
The significant toll highlights the urgent need for enhanced road safety measures and heightened awareness campaigns to prevent such tragic incidents in the future.
