Wat Phra That Sawi, Chumphon

Wat Phra That Sawi is a Buddhist temple possibly built during the Ayutthaya period and situated along the Highway No.41, in Chumphon, Southern Thailand.

An amazing temple built during the Ayutthaya period

The temple was restored in 1916 and a new structure was made over the old one. At the front of the temple next to Sawi River stands a shrine with a human-size figure. Sawi residents call this shrine “San Phra Suea Mueang”.

The Chedi of Wat Phra That Sawi contains the relics of the Lord Buddha.
