Wat Chiang Man (วัดเชียงมั่น) is a wonderful and old Buddhist temple located within the city walls of the ‘old city’ of Chiang Mai in northern Thailand.
Wat Chiang Man also called Wat Chiang Mun, is one of the oldest temples in Chiang Mai. It was built around 1296 CE, during the reign of King Mangrai, the first King of Chiang Mai.
This temple is home of Phra Sae Tang Khamani or “Crystal Buddha”, a 10 cm tall statue carved out of a quartz crystal; the Chedi “Chang Lom” or elephant chedi; the Lotus Pond and the Phra Sila statues, and also hosts a marble Buddha.
