No tsunami in Phang Nga: NDWC

BANGKOK, 16 June 2014 (NNT) – The National Disaster Warning Center (NDWC) has dismissed the rumors of tsunami in the southern province of Phang Nga, saying that destruction on the beach during the past few days was caused by strong winds and high waves.

The center earlier issued a warning to people in Takua Pa district to relocate their properties to high places following a forecast of annual monsoons in six Andaman coastal provinces.
