Thailand’s NBTC set to launch digital broadcast on April 1st

BANGKOK,25 February 2014 (NNT) – On April 1st, residents in some provinces will be able to watch digital terrestrial television as the The National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission has set the date for the start of the system test.

NBTC’s broadcasting committee also announced its approval of the results of last month’s auction of 24 commercial digital TV licences.

Residents in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Nakhon Ratchasima, and Songkhla will be able to watch the new broadcast system before anyone else as of April 1st. By June, the new service will be extended to cover seven other provinces.
