Anti-government protest leader Sonthiyan arrested, warrants sought for more 13 leaders

BANGKOK, Feb 10 – A leading protester and owner of T-News satellite television station Sonthiyan Chuenruthainaitham has been arrested today while the Center for Maintaining Peace and Order (CMPO) said it would seek court approval to issue arrest warrants for 13 more protest leaders of the People’s Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC).

Arrested today at the Centara Ladprao Hotel today, Mr Sonthiyan was taken for further investigation at the Border Patrol Police Region 1 in Pathum Thani province. Police are allowed to detain him for seven days. After that they will have to seek court approval for further 30-day detention.
