A protest by Yellow Shirt Thai expats in Los Angeles forced former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra to cancel a public speech to Red Shirt supporters on the eve of the Queen’s birthday. Mr. Thaksin has been visiting the U.S. for about a week.

On August 14, a spokesman for former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra, law advisor Mr. Noppadon Pattama, said that Mr. Thaksin had canceled a public speech in LA because he wanted to avoid any trouble on the Queen’s birthday on August 12.
