A Thai Navy coastal patrol vessel rescued an Italian man and a South African man after their yacht sank in the rough sea off Satun Monday morning.
The two tourists suffered minor injuries. They were identified as Jionata Bellkumba, 34, from Italy and Luk Loxyer, 30, from South Africa.
The Third Naval Forces received a distress signal from a sinking yacht at 9am. The yacht was hit by giant waves west of the Petra Islands National Park on the Andaman between Satun and Trang when it sent out an SOS.
