PATTANI, Sept 5 – Rival groups of inmates rioted in Pattani provincial central prison Monday morning resulting in one prisoner dead and two others, including a Myanmar national, injured, according to Pattani deputy governor Lertkiat Wongphothipan.

The dead man was a well-behaved prisoner who facilitated the work of the prison’s wardens. The two other injured inmates have been hospitalised.
