Thailand’s Internal Security Operations Command denies coup plot

The situation has not warranted a military intervention, Internal Security Operations Command spokesman Maj General Ditthaporn Sasamit said on Thursday, dismissing the allegation about top military leaders had met at a safe house to plot a coup.

“Conditions for coup do not exist and the government administration has steadily brought about improvements,” he said in reference to poltical turbulence.

Ditthaporn was reacting to the coup plot alleged by Pheu Thai MP Jatuporn Promphan.

He said Jatuporn made the allegation in order to attract attention and sway the sentiment.
