French suspected drug dealer caught in Pattaya Police sting

A French suspected class 5 drug dealer was caught by Pattaya Police, in the early hours of Saturday Morning. Undercover Pattaya Police arranged to meet the target, Mr. Mourad Amellal aged 39, outside a 7-Eleven Convenience Store in front of the Flybird Condominium in Soi 17, South Pattaya. Mr. Amellal was found to be in possession of 4 packets of Marijuana and was then escorted to his room located in Soi 5/1 off the Tepprasit Road in Jomtien. A further 1.2 kgs of the drug were found there, along with hundreds of small plastic bags which could be used to distribute small quantities of the drug to potential customers.

It was determined that Mr. Amellal had been living in Pattaya for the last 10 years and claimed he would purchase the drugs from a Thai agent in Pattaya and would sell on the drug to foreign customers in packets worth between 1,000 and 2,000 Baht.
