Bangkok’s Chatuchak Market bans smoking, again
A strict policy will come into effect at the massive Weekend Market next month, along with a crackdown on alcohol sales
Bangkok’s world-famous Chatuchak Weekend Market will be under a strict non-smoking policy from October 1, reports the National News Bureau of Thailand. Puff-happy offenders will pay a maximum fine of 2,000 baht.
This is certainly great news for non-smokers, but we thought that smoking has been banned at Chatuchak since 2008. Just last month we saw security guards politely telling tourists to butt out, though no fines were issued.
