Army chief confident new southern body will improve operations to end violence

Army Commander-in-Chief Gen Anupong Paochinda Tuesday expressed confidence that the new Southern Border Province Administrative Centre will contribute to the efforts of the authorities to end violence in the deep South.

The Army chief welcomed the House’s passage of the Southern Border Province Administrative Centre Bill last week.

The bill will remove he agency from the jurisdiction of the Interior Ministry to be directly under the premier.
