School Trip Ends in Multi-Bus Collision in Saraburi, Injuring Dozens
A school excursion from Phetchabun was violently interrupted on November 28 when a chain-reaction collision involving three double-decker buses injured 24 students and left one driver trapped. The accident occurred at the Huai Bong intersection in Saraburi’s Chalerm Phra Kiat district, where the sounds of injured students crying out marked the scene as emergency responders rushed to provide aid.
School Bus Overturns on Nakhon Sawan Highway, Injuring Multiple Students
Police and rescue volunteers from the Sawang Rattanatrai Thammasathan Foundation arrived to find a scene of sequential impact. According to CCTV footage reviewed by authorities, the incident unfolded as the first two buses in a convoy had slowed and come to a stop. A third bus, following behind, failed to stop in time and crashed into the rear of the middle bus, violently shoving it into the lead vehicle.
The collision resulted in 24 students, comprising 10 girls and 14 boys, sustaining injuries. All received immediate first aid at the scene before being transported to Saraburi Hospital for further treatment. Rescuers faced a more complex task with one bus driver, who was trapped in his crushed cabin. Emergency teams worked to free him using hydraulic cutting equipment before he was also sent to the hospital as the 25th injured person. School staff accompanying the trip, which originated from Rahu School in Bueng Sam Phan district, expressed profound relief that no fatalities were reported.
Seventeen Injured as Pick-Up Truck Collides with School Bus in Phatthalung
The student group, consisting of lower-secondary pupils, had been travelling in a five-bus convoy en route to the Science Centre and Dream World. The collision occurred as the group was preparing to stop for lunch at the Krua Baan Suan restaurant. Police have since documented the crash site extensively and taken all drivers involved to Chalerm Phra Kiat Police Station for questioning. The injured driver will be formally questioned after he recovers. Legal proceedings are pending the completion of all witness statements and technical assessments of the vehicles.
