According to Kalaya, head of the Koh Larn rescue unit who witnessed the event, the tourist and his girlfriend had just arrived at the temple. While the woman dismounted to photograph the shrine and a statue of Phra Phrom, the man remained on the yellow Honda Click scooter. Suddenly, the vehicle accelerated unexpectedly, launching directly into the pond beside the shrine dedicated to revered monk Luang Pu Tuad. The incident drew immediate assistance from three monks and several villagers who worked together to retrieve the submerged scooter from the waist-deep water.

The pond, measuring approximately 4.5 by 4.5 meters and used by locals for raising fish, sustained no damage. Although the scooter’s engine incurred water damage, the Dubai visitor promptly apologized and committed to covering all repair costs. The monks declined to pursue any formal charges, choosing instead to appreciate the humorous aspect of the accident that villagers described as one of the temple’s most memorable recent events.
