British Actor Delivers Morale-Boosting Donation to Thai Border Police

TRAT – In a show of support for Thailand’s security forces, British actor Mark Shelley traveled to the eastern border province of Trat to deliver essential supplies to Border Patrol Police units. The donation, which included nine solar panel sets, dried food, and beverages, was aimed at boosting the morale of officers stationed in an area experiencing heightened tensions near the Cambodian border.

Shelley, accompanied by his Thai wife, presented the supplies to Police Colonel Siamrath Rattanachanajan at Border Patrol Police Company 116. During the handover, the actor waved the Thai flag and voiced his encouragement, stating, “Thailand, fight, fight!” He expressed pride in being able to contribute meaningfully to those serving the nation, contrasting his gesture with more conventional tourist activities.

The solar panels are expected to provide a reliable power source for communication devices and electronic equipment used by officers who have been maintaining a heightened state of alert. Police Colonel Siamrath expressed gratitude for the donation, emphasizing its role in supporting operational readiness amid ongoing vigilance along the frontier.

Authorities have maintained full deployment in the area since recent border tensions began, with officers working alongside military units and engaging with local communities. Colonel Siamrath reassured the public that security forces remain dedicated to protecting national sovereignty and ensuring the safety of residents, while also advising people to rely on official sources for accurate information. The donated resources are seen as a practical contribution to sustaining these efforts under demanding conditions.
