Korat Intensifies Anti-Drug Campaign with Surprise Tests at Provincial Hall
Korat, July 8, 2025 – Provincial authorities conducted unannounced drug screenings for approximately 200 government workers at Korat’s provincial hall today, escalating efforts to combat substance abuse following last month’s alarming test results that revealed 167 positive cases across the province.
Unlicensed Pub Raided in Nakhon Pathom: 81 Test Positive for Drugs
Governor Chaiwat Chuenkosum spearheaded the latest round of urine tests as part of the ongoing “White Korat: Clean Your Own House” campaign. The surprise screenings targeted all personnel working within the provincial government complex, including permanent staff, temporary employees, and contractors. Conducted in the Prem Tinsulanonda Conference Hall, the operation aimed to reinforce zero-tolerance policies in public offices.
Last month’s province-wide crackdown tested 34,022 individuals across all sectors of society, from civil servants and monks to students and local leaders. The 167 positive cases included village officials, a monk, and numerous members of the public, highlighting the pervasive nature of the issue.
