Foreign Tourist Arrested for Vandalizing Train in Bangkok
BANGKOK — A foreign tourist faces serious charges after allegedly spray-painting a State Railway of Thailand (SRT) express train, causing damage to state property and disrupting rail services. The incident occurred on July 13 beneath a railway bridge on Kanchanaphisek Road in Taling Chan district.

SRT Governor Nirut Amrapan confirmed the suspect defaced the locomotive and multiple carriages of Train No. 171, the Bangkok-Sungai Kolok express, before being caught in the act. Station staff immediately alerted police, who arrested the tourist at the scene. Authorities seized 10 spray paint cans as evidence.
The suspect, whose nationality has not been disclosed, was taken to Phutthamonthon Police Station for processing. The SRT vowed to pursue maximum penalties under Thai law, emphasizing a zero-tolerance policy toward vandalism of public property.
