‘Belgian’ Tourist Faces Deportation and Blacklist After Drunken Rampages in Pattaya

Pattaya, May 5, 2025 — A 25-year-old Belgian national, Mustafa H.A., is set to be deported and blacklisted from Thailand following a series of alcohol-fueled incidents at Pattaya convenience stores, marking the latest crackdown on unruly tourist behavior in the popular beach town.

‘Belgian’ Tourist Arrested Again After Violent Convenience Store Rampage in Pattaya

The Chonburi Immigration Office revoked Mustafa’s visa after he twice terrorized local shops while intoxicated within a single week. On April 26, 2025, Mustafa was arrested for smashing property at a convenience store. He avoided charges by paying 35,000 baht in compensation. On April 30, 2025: Just days later, he caused another disturbance at a Soi Yensabai store, prompting staff to call police. Officers took him to Pattaya Hospital for a psychiatric evaluation amid concerns over his erratic behavior.

Though the second store declined to press charges, authorities deemed Mustafa a repeat offender whose actions violated Thai cultural norms and public safety laws.

Citing Section 12(7) of Thailand’s Immigration Act—which bars foreigners deemed threats to society—the Chonburi Immigration Investigation Unit canceled Mustafa’s stay permit. He is now in detention pending deportation and will be blacklisted, though the duration of his entry ban remains undisclosed.

“Such behavior is unacceptable,” said an immigration official. “We will not tolerate tourists who disrespect our laws and communities.”

The case highlights Thailand’s increasingly strict enforcement against disruptive visitors. In recent months, authorities have deported multiple foreigners for public intoxication, violence, and property damage, particularly in nightlife hubs like Pattaya.

Local business owners applauded the decision. “We’re tired of drunk tourists causing chaos,” said one 7-Eleven clerk. “This sends a clear message.”
