Thai Woman Fatally Stabbed in Front of Tourists on Phi Phi Island
Krabi, Thailand – A 41-year-old Thai woman was brutally stabbed to death in broad daylight while cooking at a restaurant on Phi Phi Island. The shocking incident, which unfolded in front of terrified tourists, has left the local community in shock.

Emergency responders were alerted to the attack at approximately 1:40 PM on Thursday, February 27th. The violent act took place in a bustling market area in the heart of Phi Phi Island, Ao Nang. Upon arrival, rescue workers discovered the victim, identified as Ms. Tatphicha, 41, from Samut Prakan, lying in a pool of blood with a deep stab wound to her neck. Despite efforts to save her, she was pronounced dead shortly after being transported to Koh Phi Phi Hospital.
The alleged attacker, Mr. Khananart, 27, a business owner from Krabi, was apprehended at the scene. He was found in possession of a 30-centimeter-long knife. Khananart, who owns a neighboring drink shop, was immediately taken into police custody.

CCTV footage from the restaurant captured the horrifying moment. Ms. Tatphicha was preparing food while three foreign tourists were dining nearby when Khananart stormed in. The footage shows him forcefully pushing a customer aside before lunging at Ms. Tatphicha and stabbing her. The onlooking customers fled in panic as the brutal attack unfolded before their eyes. Several bystanders quickly intervened, detaining the suspect until authorities arrived.
Colleagues of the victim revealed that Ms. Tatphicha and Khananart had a history of verbal disputes. While the exact cause of their conflicts remains unclear, police are conducting a thorough investigation into the motive behind the attack.
