Czech tourist found hanged in Pattaya apartment

Pattaya authorities were alerted to a grim discovery as they responded to reports of a 49-year-old Czech man found dead in an apartment within the Bang Lamung district. The incident, appearing to be a case of suicide, prompted swift action from police and emergency services on Thursday night.

The man’s identity remains undisclosed as efforts are made to notify his family. He was found suspended from a nylon rope tied to a beam in a rooftop storage area of a five-story building. Authorities estimate the man had been deceased for at least three days, showing no evident signs of injury.

Investigations reveal that the man, a visitor from the Czech Republic, checked into the apartment on February 28 and was last seen on March 2, according to statements from a 35-year-old woman identified as the apartment keeper. She noticed a peculiar odor emanating from the storage room on Thursday night, leading to the shocking discovery and subsequent police notification.

While inquiries continue, law enforcement officers suspect the man may have taken his own life, although the motive remains elusive. The body has been conveyed to the Police General Hospital for further examination.
