Wat Prayoon in Thon Buri, Bangkok

Wat Prayurawongsawas Woravihara also called Wat Prayoon or Wat Rua Lek, is a magnificent Buddhist temple. This Buddhist temple is located on a artificial hill in Thonburi district, Bangkok, on the western side of the Chao Praya river bank.

In 2013, UNESCO has granted the Award of Excellence in the 2013 Asia-Pacific Heritage Awards for cultural heritage conservation to the principal chedi of Wat Prayurawongsawas Woravihara (Iron-fenced Monastery).

Wat Prayoon was built during the reign of King Nangklao (Rama III).
