Crocodile show at Sriracha Tiger Zoo in Chonburi

Trip to Sriracha city and Sriracha Tiger Zoo

Sriracha or Si Racha was a beautiful coastal town in the province Chonburi, Thailand with a fanciful balance between modern and traditional Thailand. It is also known for the Sriracha chili sauce and Sriracha-style Chicken.

Not far from Pattaya and at only one hour drive from Bangkok (100km), Sriracha is a perfect city for holidaying, eat seafood, visit its temples or simply relax. Even the city is located near Pattaya it is usually not crowded with tourists.

Tourists in Sriracha can enjoy many beautiful places as the wonderful park with free Wi-Fi and exercise machines. In the evening you can watch as local people practice aerobics, jogging or tai chi.

As most cities in Thailand Sriracha has many temples. Wat Koh Loi is one of the most beautiful and revered temples in the city. This Thai-Chinese temple is located in Koh Loi, a tiny island close to Si Racha Beach and connected with the mainland by a 1.5 km bridge. The island offers good view of Sri Racha beach. Just in front the temple there is the Sea Turtle Garden, a pond with giant turtles. At the time, visitors were allowed to feed the turtles.

Another spectacular temple and cave is San Chao Por Khao Yai, another Thai-Chinese temple located up on the mountain in Koh Si Chang, a island off Sri Racha county, just 12 km away from the coast.

Visiting Sriracha Tiger Zoo

Sriracha Tiger Zoo is located in Nongkham, about 10 kilometers from Sriracha, between Pattaya and Bang Saen Beach. I would like to say that the Sriracha Tiger Zoo is absolutely beautiful and a worthwhile place to visit for both, children and adults.

Sriracha Tiger Zoo is a beautiful zoo with hoards of crocodiles, Bengal tigers, camels, deer, wallabies, ostriches, scorpions and many more. Located in a natural atmosphere, the zoo claims a population of 200 tigers and around 10,000 crocodiles, the largest such populations in the world.

There are four different shows at various times during the day, including Amazing Circus: with crocodile, bear, pig, elephant and tiger shows. Perhaps the most fascinating (and dangerous) show is the Crocodile Show, performed by a girl and a guy. The guy sticks his head in a crocodile mouth while the lady fight and wrestle the alligators with bare hand putting their lives at risk.

Visitors can also enjoy funny pig races and take photos feeding milk to tiger cubs or posing with an orangutan, kangaroo, snake, scorpions or baby crocodiles for just 150 THB. Visitors can also touch and hand feed elephants or riding on their backs. You can also experience the Crocodile Hatching Festival, and see baby crocodiles hatching from their eggs.

Address: 341 Moo.3 Highway 7, Km. 20, Nongkham, Sriracha. Admission fee for foreigners: Adults 350 THB – Child under 140cm 200 THB. Thai Nationals: 120 THB.

Please note that the Sri Racha Tiger Zoo closed in July 13, 2021
