Twelve Bangkok pubs face possible 5-year closure

Twelve Bangkok pubs may be closed for up to five years, depending on decisions now before the national police chief’s or an authorised deputy chief’s consideration, said deputy city police commissioner Maj-General Panurat Lakboon on Thursday.

A January 30 meeting would consider what to do about venues charged with illegally operating at night, said Panurat in his capacity as head of a police committee to screen business establishments facing possible shuttering as per the National Council for Peace and Order directives orders 22/2558 and 46/2559.
