TAT announces new travel promotion program focusing on northeast

BANGKOK, 18th January 2018 (NNT) – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is organizing “Check In Isan” to promote weekday domestic travel and to disperse revenue to smaller communities.

TAT Regional Director for the Northeast, Somchai Chompoonoi unveiled “Check In Isan” at the Travel Thailand Festival at Lumphini Park, explaining that the program is to promote tourism to the northeastern region and disperse revenue from travelers to local areas. The activity focuses on Thai travelers and is using the low price and abundancy of hotels and accommodation as well as ease of travel as the main selling point.
