A Japanese man who was alleged to be a key financier of the Yamagushi Yakuza gang in Japan was arrested by Thai and Japanese police near his condominium in Din Daeng area early this morning (Sunday).

Pol Lt-Gen Natthathorn Prohsunthorn, commissioner of Immigration Bureau, said that the detainee, Mr Suhey-I Yoshisawa, 34, was wanted by Japanese police on electronic fraud charges and a warrant for his arrest has been issued by the court in Kobe.
