A 62 year old man survived in the Western Australian desert with no water by eating ants. According to The Guardian, the man, Reg Foggerdy, decided to eat ants when he got lost in the outback because he had seen Bear Grylls, the survival expert, doing so on television.
He was hunting a camel when got lost, and although the camel died, he had no way to eat it. Reg is a diabetic with heart problems, and after six days in the bush, was only minutes away from death when he was found.
