Rite for Erawan victims deferred over security concerns

The Sangha Supreme Council (SSC) on Sunday announced it would postpone indefinitely a religious rite for the deceased of the Erawan shrine blast scheduled for Monday after the government expressed concern about security.

The clergy’s governing body announced on Friday it would perform a religious rite in which monks would chant prayers to make merit for the people killed by the attack.
