Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak has dismissed the widespread belief that Thailand is in the middle of economic crisis claiming that the overall economic fundamentals are still strong.

Giving a special lecture on policy and means to drive the economic engine, Dr Somkid argued that the main problem facing the country is falling prices of agricultural produce resulting to weakening purchasing power of the people.
