Thai Navy to deploy 7 vessels to assist Rohingyas

PHUKET: Vice-Admiral Sayan Prasongsamrej, Commander of the Royal Thai Navy’s Third Naval Area, explained today (May 26) how the Thai Navy will be used to find Rohingya refugee ships in Thai waters and help them.

Seven ships will be deployed, he said, naming them as HTMS Angthong, a landing platform dock ship, which will act as a floating hospital; HTMS Saiburi, a guided missile frigate; HTMS Thayan Chon, an anti-submarine frigate; a large landing craft and three patrol boats.
