TAT expects 2 million tourists for Songkran festival

BANGKOK, 13 April 2015 (NNT) – Events for Songkran festival are taking place in 15 provinces as part of the ‘Songkran Discover Thainess’ campaign organized by Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), with an expectation arrival of 2 million Thai and foreign visitors, the holiday could generate up to 14.5 billion baht in income, says a TAT official.

TAT’s Deputy Governor Juthaporn Rerngronasa has said that the TAT has joined hands with 15 provinces to hold the ‘Songkran Discover Thainess’ events in Bangkok, Samut Prakarn, Chonburi, Ayutthaya, Suphanburi, Kanchanaburi, Sukhothai, Chiang Mai, Nakhon Pathom, Nong Kai, Khon Kaen, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phuket, and Songkhla.
