Human rights in Thailand respected: Foreign affairs ministry

BANGKOK, 4 September 2014 (NNT) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirms to the UN that Thailand respects human rights and says it is preparing to schedule the new Minister of Foreign Affairs’ official visits abroad.

Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs Sihasak Puangketkaew said Thailand attended the concerns of the UNHCR about the human rights situation in the country after a seminar on the issue at the Foreign Correspondents’ Club of Thailand was told to stop on 2 September.
