Thai Military Junta bans political gatherings

BANGKOK, 22 May 2014 (NNT) – The National Peace and Order Maintaining Council issues its seventh announcement to prohibit all political gatherings.

The National Peace and Order Maintaining Council who staged a coup d’etat on Thursday announced a ban on political gatherings of more than five people at all places. Violators are subject to imprisonment for not more than one year and/or fine of not over 20,000 baht.

Political protesters must return home immediately.
