Over 200 police officers ready to reclaim Chaengwattana protest site

BANGKOK, 16 February 2014 (NNT) – Around two companies of police officers have blocked Chaengwattana road where anti-government protesters are camped since Sunday morning. Talks will be held with their leaders in an effort to take the occupied area back.

Gunshots and firecrackers were heard at 2 AM on Sunday at Chaengwattana but no injuries were reported. There was also sound of gunfire last night near the head office of the PTT company which is the rally site of the People’s Army and the Thailand’s Energy Reform Network. No injuries have been reported.
