Government House reopening set for Wednesday: Chalerm

BANGKOK, Feb 15 – Thailand’s Centre for Maintaining Peace and Order (CMPO) director Chalerm Yubamrung said he expects that Government House will reopen on Wednesday after police retook the Makkhawan Rangsan Bridge protest site and nearby areas on Ratchadamnoen Avenue yesterday.

Mr Chalerm said on Saturday that the caretaker prime minister and state officials could return to work at their offices in Government on Wednesday (Feb 19), adding that he ordered Metropolitan Police Commander Kamronwit Thoopkrachang to clear up and inspect Government House and its compound to ensure safety.
