PATTANI, June 15 – A suspected insurgent was killed and one other detained in a clash between security officials and armed insurgents on Saturday in the provincial seat of this restive southern border province.

The clash occurred around noon when a combined force of military personnel and police cordoned off a targeted site in Talubo subdistrict and conducted a search.
