Magnitude-6.8 quake kills four in northern Myanmar

A 6.8-magnitude earthquake shook northern Myanmar Sunday, killing at least four people and injuring more than 20 in Shwebo district, officials said.

The quake that rattled buildings as far away as Bangkok was centred about 117 kilometres north of Mandalay, Myanmar’s second most-populous city, and about 72 kilometres north of Shwebo township, according to US Geological Survey (USGS) data and Myanmar meteorological officials.
