Eight people wounded by gunfire in Pattani bus attack

PATTANI, April 13 – Presumed insurgents opened fire at a bus in this violence-plagued province, wounding eight persons, mostly the elderly en route to make merit on the Thai New Year.

About 50 people from Pattani’s Panare district chartered a bus to take part in a merit-making ceremony in adjacent province of Narathiwat on the ‘Songkran’ Thai New Year festival.
