Under this project, the government and all related agencies will promote the country’s cultural tourism and community-based tourism, both of which are considered outstanding strengths of Thailand.
In addition, the prime minister said that the government will invest more in the development of basic infrastructure to facilitate travelers to the many attractive destinations throughout the country.
Deputy Prime Minister Chumpol added that rigorous tourism promotional activities will be implemented on a monthly basis to back the project.
He also conceded that calls from the private sector for a new theme park, resembling Disneyland, are a far-off ambition because the idea is very new to the country.
