Buddhists across Thailand perform merit-making on Makha Bucha Day

BANGKOK, March 7 – Buddhists across Thailand on Wednesday celebrated Makha Bucha Day, with merit making and observing religious rites.

About one thousand Buddhist residents in the restive southern province of Yala gathered at a temple in the provincial seat early in the morning to perform merit making and offer food to monks amid tight security.
