Pattaya Immigration arrest fugitive American and 7 Ugandan suspected prostitutes

Immigration Police have announced the arrest of an American fugitive and 7 Ugandan women accused of being prostitutes.

PATTAYA:– Chonburi immigration police commander Pol. Col. Chusak Panasamporn held a press conference on the arrest of American national Plueger Dray Matthew, 36, wanted by US authorities on narcotics-related charges. He was arrested while drinking at a beachside bar in Pattaya Soi 5.

He fled an arrest warrant in the US and hided out in Pattaya.

The police also arrested 7 Ugandan nationals on the charge of prostitution. They will be prosecuted by Pattaya police before being deported.

The immigration police said the crackdown on crime by foreign nationals is an attempt to boost Pattaya’s image as a tourist destination as ordered by the immigration police chief. Moreover, the bureau will continue its work to arrest foreign nationals involved with crime to improve the quality of foreign visitors to the kingdom and increase security at all tourist destinations.
