Flood hits Southern Thailand, highway under water
SURAT THANI, Jan 2 – Flooding in the southern provinces has cut off some villages, submerging portions of highways and leaving some tourists and local residents stranded or cut off from the outside world.
In Surat Thani, overnight rain caused flooded roads in the municipality and surrounding areas. In Kanchanadit district, a flash flood from Romyen National Park flowed into villages, inundating roads and damaging bridges, leaving some 500 households cut off.
