Ruling Pheu Thai MPs propose relocation of Bangkok
BANGKOK, Nov 16 – Twenty Pheu Thai MPs signed their names to an urgent motion to ask Parliament to set up an extraordinary committee to conduct a feasibility study on relocation of Thailand’s capital Bangkok, said Sathaporn Maneerat, ruling Pheu Thai party MP for Lamphun.
The central provinces of Nakhon Nayok or Phetchabun should be considered as the new capital, he said, adding that the proposal is based on rational that Bangkok is engulfed with environmental problems and natural disasters.
