Nava Nakorn dykes breached; Evacuation in process

PATHUM THANI, Oct 18 – The Nava Nakorn Industrial Estate in the northern approaches to the Thai capital has been flooded after its protective dyke on Monday was breached at two locations and floodwaters poured into Thailand’s oldest manufacturing centre.

Flood Relief Operations Centre (FROC) Director Justice Minister Pracha Promnok said he will meet top officials from the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, the Royal Irrigation Department and the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives this afternoon to coordinate implementation of the measure.
