Torrential Rain Triggers Flooding in Thai Provinces

Non-stop heavy downpours have caused major rivers and tributaries to overflow, flooding homes and farmland in various provinces of Thailand.

Torrential rain continued to batter Chiang Mai Province triggering flash floods which have swollen the Mae On Reservoir.

The bloated reservoir has caused widespread flooding particularly in San Kampaeng District where villagers are experiencing a fifth round of flooding this year.

Nearby, in Mae Tang District, several sections of the road connecting Chiang Mai and Pai District of Mae Hong Son have been cut off by a mudslide.
