BANGKOK, 22 July 2011 (NNT) – Incoming Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra has indicated that the person who will be new House speaker must have thorough understanding of the parliamentary work.
Ms Yingluck elaborated that the new house speaker should be knowledgeable and have previous work experiences in Parliament. She said she is willing to consider nominations from her party MPs, including elected MP candidates of the United Front of Democracy Against Dictatorship.
The Pheu Thai heavyweight noted that everyone can propose suitable candidates but the decision will rest with the party executives. She confirmed that no discussions will be made on the matter with her brother ex-Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra.
