Toyota Low-cost Small Car Gears Up for Thailand Launch; To Sell in India by December
Toyota will launch its low-cost small car in Thailand and bring it India under the name Etios. The world’s largest automaker also plans to launch similar models China and Brazil too. Dubbed as the 21st century Corolla, the car will be priced for competition, and will offer good after-service maintenance.
The small car, to be called Etios in India, expects sales to begin by this December. The 5 door hatch-back version will be a direct rival for Maruti-Suzuki’s Swift. It will be priced at Rs. 450,000 ($10,070), and the sedan version will cost Rs 80,000 more.
