Thai F-16 Bombs Key Cambodian Bridge in Strategic Escalation
BANGKOK – The Royal Thai Air Force has escalated its military campaign by deploying a precision-guided munition to strike a strategic bridge in Cambodia’s Oddar Meanchey province. The target, the O-Jik Bridge, serves as a critical supply route to front-line Cambodian forces near the contested Ta Kwai ancient ruins and Mount 350 in Thailand’s Surin province.

Air Marshal Chakkrit Thammavichai, spokesman for the RTAF, confirmed that an F-16 fighter jet dropped a guided weapon on the bridge, damaging it severely enough to halt all vehicle traffic. He stated that the bridge is now unusable for cars or trucks transporting military supplies. The spokesman added that pedestrian and motorcycle use was intentionally permitted to minimize disruption to civilian life, but issued a stern warning: if the bridge is used again for logistical support, the RTAF will proceed to destroy it completely.
“This is to apply pressure and signal to the elites in the Cambodian government that the Thai military will not stop,” Air Marshal Chakkrit said. “We will continue with our military operations until Cambodia accepts our ceasefire pre-conditions and future peace talks.”

On the ground, Lieutenant General Weerayuth Raksilp, commander of the Second Army Region, praised the bravery of two soldiers killed in recent fighting at Mount 350—Sergeant Major Samroeng Klangprakone and Private Phanupat Saosa—for sacrificing their lives to protect comrades during the battle to reclaim the strategic hilltop. He noted that Thai troops now control Mount 350 but are proceeding with extreme caution in efforts to retrieve the soldiers’ bodies due to heavy mining in the area.

In a related development, the Royal Thai Navy announced that its Marines have retaken control of Ban Tha Sen in Trat province from Cambodian forces. Navy Spokesman Rear Admiral Parach Rattanachaipan stated that a casino in the area had been used as a Cambodian command center to launch drone attacks against Thai positions. The operation to seize Ban Tha Sen was carried out without any Thai casualties.
