Teen Dragged 300 Metres to Death in Horrific Kamphaeng Phet Road Accident

Kamphaeng Phet – A 17-year-old vocational student was killed in a devastating late-night collision after being dragged beneath a pickup truck for over 300 metres along a rain-soaked highway, leaving his grieving father in shock at the scene.

Woman Dies After Motorbike Accident With Pickup Truck in Phuket

The tragedy occurred around 9:00 PM on July 22 at a PTT petrol station in Mueang district, where horrified staff alerted authorities after discovering the mangled body of Natthawut, a local technical college student, trapped under an Isuzu refrigerated truck transporting dried mangoes. Police found his severely disfigured body still lodged in the vehicle’s undercarriage, with long abrasion marks tracing the gruesome path from the impact site.

Investigators later located the wreckage of the victim’s Honda Wave motorcycle 300 metres away on Phahonyothin Road, its rear end crushed and license plate missing. The 46-year-old truck driver, Kriangkrai, claimed he was traveling from Lampang to Bangkok during heavy rain when he spotted a “white reflective object” on the dark roadway. He insisted he couldn’t avoid driving over it due to slippery conditions and the truck’s momentum, only realizing at the petrol station that he had dragged a person underneath.

In a heartbreaking twist, the victim’s 41-year-old father revealed his son had called just 15 minutes before the crash to request 100 baht for food—a final conversation before receiving the devastating news. The distraught parent collapsed upon identifying his child’s body at the scene.

Police are now reviewing CCTV footage and pursuing leads about a possible second vehicle—a lorry allegedly witnessed striking the motorcycle first before fleeing. Kamphaeng Phet authorities warn all involved parties could face serious charges, including negligent homicide and failure to report an accident.
